About

My name is Josh and I run Simpler Wood.

Here is a quick shop tour where all of our cutting boards are made:

The jointer is where all the wood starts, it lets me put a flat face and flat edge on the boards.

After one face is finished it heads over to the planer / thicknesser. This takes each board and makes the faces parallel to each other and reduces the thickness down to our usual finish size of .75".

Next up is the table saw. This is where final dimensions are cut and the remaining edges are squared up.

Last up is the router and finishing station. The router lets us put the curve on the edge of the boards. At the finishing station we finalize the board by sanding it and then putting our blend of 100% organic fractionated coconut oil and 100% organic bees wax onto each board.
